Tree Watch

You might have seen a team out and about in the village staring up at trees. They are from the Forestry Commission and have been in the area checking Oak trees for Oak Processionary Moths. See the leaflet below for more details. The moths were introduced into the area on a tree that was planted in Long Eaton in 2019 and the team have been visiting since to ensure that they are not spreading. Traps were installed by the team in the oak trees in Perks Park when they visited in 2023. If you see any of the signs of the moths please contact the Forestry Commission on opm@forestrycommission.gov.uk or 03000674442
