Road Safety Project Update: Final Speed Indicator Device Installed

Our ongoing road safety project reached another key milestone yesterday with the installation of the final Speed Indicator Device (SID) on Wilsthorpe Road. This SID, positioned opposite the petrol station, completes the set of priority locations identified after numerous reports from residents concerned about speeding within the village.

These devices play an important role in improving safety, not only by reminding drivers to slow down, but also by collecting valuable data. Each month, the recorded speed information is shared with the Highways Safety Team and the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner to support further safety measures where needed.

We would also like to thank our dedicated Community Speed Watch volunteers who continue to carry out regular monitoring sessions. New volunteers are always welcome, your involvement helps us increase the number and frequency of checks, contributing directly to making our village safer for everyone.
