Croft Project
This project is to address a number of leaks over recent years and to now connect the newest section of pipe to the rest of the network. Activity is mainly on private land and we’re working closely with those landowners.
We’re nearing completion of this project and recently carried out a successful test shut as a precursor to making the final connection. You’ll know that the area around Sawley Road between Sawley and Draycott is prone to flooding and unfortunately the recent storm and rainfall has hampered the final project stages. Work is progressing though, and we aim to complete the final connection in the new year.
Please note there won’t be any impact on water supplies during this work.
Witches Oak Treatment Works and Decarbonisation
We’re delighted that the wetlands area is completed and thriving and that the fantastic facilities at the new treatment works are ready. Work continues on the pipework and connections that will deliver water to the new treatment works and supply the local area.
People may also have seen the increased activity at our location on Wilne Road in the last couple of weeks where there was a leak on our pipe. This has been repaired and we are liaising closely with affected residents.
Although the work on Sawley Road is finished we do need to return for a week to make good some minor issues. We expect this to take place in mid-January when we’ll need a lane closure on the Sawley to Draycott section for a week. Once the date is confirmed we’ll update you and local residents.
Whilst these are extensive improvements for our customers, we don’t underestimate the impact the construction can have on local communities. We’d like to thank everyone in the Draycott, Breaston and Sawley areas for their continued patience.
