Wildflower Meadow

It feels like only yesterday that we first talked about creating a wildflower meadow on the as-yet unused side of Breaston Cemetery. Unbelievably, it’s now four years since the ground was prepared.
It hasn’t all been plain sailing, but the variety of wildflowers is steadily increasing, helped along by the birds and wildlife that visit the site. Ragged Robin, Oxeye Daisy, Buttercup, Vetch, Clover, Wild Strawberry, Birds Foot Trefoil all seen this year!
A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in the project, and to those who donated towards it. Special thanks also go to Julie Rowlinson, who continues to monitor the meadow, give it plenty of TLC, and kindly provided the list of different flowers she has spotted this year.
