Parish Litter Bins
Please don’t use litter bins on our public open spaces for dumping domestic waste.
A large quantity of defrosted frozen food was left in the front litter bin on Duffield Close at lunchtime on Saturday (9th). Aside from being unfair on the staff who maintain these areas, this could also create a public health issue by attracting pests and causing unpleasant smells, particularly in warmer weather.
What makes this even more frustrating is that it was black bin collection week, and we now also have weekly food waste collections available. There is simply no need to dispose of household food waste in public litter bins intended for small items of rubbish from people using the open space. Also leaving the bin full encourages others to litter because they can’t get their rubbish into the overflowing bin.
Please use the correct household waste collections so we can keep our shared public spaces clean, safe and pleasant for everyone
